Arootsakoostik

Arootsakoostik is back this year in New Sweden. Bands take the stage in Thomas Park at 12 noon and play until 9 pm, Saturday, July 7th.

Are you ready for some great music? You're invited to join in for the 9th installment of the Arootsakoostik Music Festival; a Celebration of Maine Made Music on Saturday, July 11th at Thomas Park in New Sweden.

What started out as the brain child of one of northern Maine's most prolific and recognizable singer/songwriter's has turned into an event that draws more and more musicians and music lovers from all over the state, the country, and Canada. It's hard to believe Travis Cyr got the ball rolling for the Arootsakoostik Music Festival 8 years ago.

What started in 2007 as a sort of a homecoming for musicians with roots in Aroostook County has grown into one of the best showcases for original music in the region.

The weather is finally warming up- ready for some tunes? Summer is a great time for music in The County. There's a mix of local acts, bands up from Southern Maine, and even some from out of state. Get out there and enjoy/support local music!
