Sale, Mookie, Kimbrel Shine [VIDEO]
The three Boston Red Sox players turned out to have important roles in the American League win Tuesday night in Miami.
Chris Sale pitched the first two innings, throwing 29 pitches. He gave up three hits and struck out two. One of Sale's pitches was clocked at 100 mph.
Sox closer Craig Kimbrel ends up earning the win. He pitched the 9th inning and struggled a bit but did not give up any runs. Kimbrel walked two batters but got out of the jam with a strikeout.
Mookie Betts started in centerfield and went 0-for-2 at the plate. But, he did get an assist for throwing out Nolan Arenado trying to get from first base to second base on a fly out.
The last Sox outfielder to get an all star assist - Manny Ramirez in 2002 (Elias Sports Bureau).
