So my two youngest are barreling through the house singing/screaming a melody that I'm trying to make out as they jump on the bed after I've told them several times not to. "What are you singing," I ask. "A song," they reply. I walked into that one. It's at that point that they both close their eyes and blurt out, "Da Da Da--Da Da DADA--Da Da Da--Da DA!" Recognize it?

Yes, I work at a classic rock station but in the car we listen to things like, "We are never-EVER-EVER getting back together," (Make it go away please). How my 2 and 4 year old can deliver a spot-on interpretation of Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" is baffling. They must have heard their older brother banging it away on the piano and it's so simple, catchy and memorable that their little Spongebob brains soaked it in. This leads me to the topic of the day, 5 of the most memorable opening guitar riffs according to yours truly. Got a better list? Feel free to leave a comment!
