The New Brunswick government is investing $40,000 in the Gaia Project.  The project says it gives youth tools and time to make fact-based decisions about energy and its impact on the economy, society and the environment. 

The project invests students in clean air and water and a safe environment, said Energy and Mines Minister Donald Arseneault.The Gaia Project has significant potential for shaping attitudes and knowledge with respect to the environment.”

From 2014 to 2016, 59 schools across the province collaborated with the organization on different programs.

The Gaia Project is a New Brunswick-based charity with a mandate to educate students on energy, climate change and sustainability issues.  The organisation tries to instill what it calls "realistic environmentalism," meaning care for the province in ways that are achievable.
