Be prepared for heavy rain and melting snow Saturday night into Sunday morning. Forecasters say we could get between 1 and 2 inches of rain. Temperatures across northern Maine and western New Brunswick are expected to be around 40°F/+4C overnight Saturday.
The National Weather Service office in Caribou says the melting snow and rain will cause rising river levels. Ice jams are a concern from into the day on Monday.
A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. Officials are urging people who live in areas prone to flooding to be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
