Maine Man Pleads Guilty To Possession Of Child Porn

A Maine man pleaded guilty on Tuesday in U.S. District Court to receiving and possessing child pornography, of which penalties include prison time and a financial fine.

According to court records, 50-year old Christopher Kruse of Skowhegan used the internet to receive several videos depicting child pornography and some of those images showed children under the age of 12.

The videos were then added to a collection of child pornography that Kruse kept on his personal computer since 2015.

Law enforcement agents executed a search warrant of Kruse's home on November 28, 2017, and found the pornographic collection.

United States Attorney Halsey B. Frank announced that Kruse faces between five and 20 years in prison, between five years and life on supervised release and carries a potential fine of $250,000.

Once the investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office is completed, Kruse will then be sentenced.

The investigation was conducted, in part, by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations, the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office and the Bangor Skowhegan Police Department.
