Katahdin Trust Supports Cadet Encampment Program
Katahdin Trust Company was pleased to present a $500 donation to The County Composite Squadron.
“Our contribution will help Aroostook County cadets in need of financial assistance to attend Civil Air Patrol’s annual Maine encampment,” shares Joe Clukey, Assistant Vice President, Retail Services. “Developing interest in aviation and related fields is critical to our future economic prosperity in Aroostook County and beyond. In addition, we are pleased to be part of an effort that builds on the academic and leadership skills of our local young people.”
“The County Composite Squadron is a part of the Civil Air Patrol, the United States Air Force auxiliary,” explains 2nd Lt James Ackerson, Deputy Commander for Cadets. “For seven days, encampment immerses cadets in all areas of Civil Air Patrol’s mission in a way that just isn’t possible locally. They rub shoulders with cadets and leaders from across the state, and they receive leadership opportunities and training that are invaluable. We always see a difference in cadets after encampment; the confidence they gain is truly visible. We’re grateful to Katahdin Trust for this donation. It will help put the encampment experience within reach of cadets’ families, and it will play an important role in raising up future leaders.”
