A pre-dawn fire Wednesday damaged a home in Perth-Andover and displaced an extended family of five.

Firefighters responded to the blaze on Terrace Street around 5 a.m. According to Dan Bedell of the Canadian Red Cross, a woman, her daughter and son-in-law and two grandchildren made it out safely. There were no injuries.

Red Cross volunteers were helping the family with emergency lodging, food and clothing purchases and other basic needs.
