Commencements Being Held Around the State This Weekend

Peace negotiator and former U.S. Senate leader George Mitchell and current Sen. Susan Collins are keynote speakers as the University of Maine System commencements.

Mitchell is speaking Saturday at the University of Southern Maine in Portland, while Collins is addressing the University of Maine School of Law.

Elsewhere, commencements are being held at the University of Maine, along with University of Maine System campuses in Farmington, Presque Isle, Fort Kent, Machias and Augusta. Unity College and St. Joseph's College also are holding commencements.

The University of New England, the College of the Atlantic and Colby, Bates and Bowdoin colleges will hold their commencements in coming weeks.
