Boston winger Brad Marchand avoided a suspension during the day and then scored two goals at night in a Bruins win over the Pittsburgh Penquins 4-3.

Marchand did have to pay a $10,000 fine for his illegal slewfoot against the Red Wings earlier in the week. Even he thought he might get a suspension.

Trailing 2-0 to the Pens last night, Marchand scored his 20th and 21st goals to tie the game.

Riley Nash scored Boston's third goal and Patrice Bergeron scored a third period powerplay goal that turned out to be the game winner.

The B's outshot Pittsburgh 37-22.

Heading into the NHL All Star break, the Bruins are 25-21-6 and in a playoff spot.
