I know the answer to the question I’m about to ask but I thought I’d throw it out there to get some feedback. Growing up, no one in my family was musical yet I turned out to be both a musician and a songwriter. Does that mean that if my kids are exposed to their Dad the musician that they’ll scoff at the idea of being a musician? Part of me wants them to.

My teenage years were smack dab in the middle of the eighties. It was a decade of excess. With the advent of MTV it became much more about image than music. Artists were imitating their rock heroes from the sixties and seventies but taking it to the next level. Does that mean that rock and roll from the eighties was bad? No. Well, mostly not.
