Yoko Ono Tweets Controversial Image

The outspoken peace activist, Yoko Ono, posted a photo of John Lennon’s bloodstained glasses on their 44th wedding anniversary. Ono also tweeted that since her husband’s death more than 1,057,000 people have been killed by guns in the U.S.

Lennon was shot and killed by Mark Chapman on December 8, 1980. Since then Ono has been vocal about gun violence and most recently gun laws. She tweeted several more messages:

‘The death of a loved one is a hollowing experience. After 33 years our son Sean and I still miss him. Yoko Ono Lennon' and ‘Together, let's bring back America, the green land of peace.'

Ono and Lennon were married on March 20, 1969.
