A 36-year-old Winterville man was arrested Sunday and charged with theft by deception after complaints from multiple Northern Aroostook County residents about not receiving homemade trailers they had purchased.

Aroostook County Sheriff Shawn Gillen said from June to December, 2019, individuals had paid a deposit to James Camp for a trailer and had not heard back from him or received the product that they had purchased.

The Sheriff’s Office said they received seven similar reports involving Camp as of December 8th.

Deputy Michael DeLena applied for a warrant and arrested Camp for theft by deception, a class C Felony.

Camp posted bail and has a scheduled date for January 6th, 2020 in the Fort Kent District Court.
