While Temps Plummet, Gas Prices Rise
While New England struggles to deal with a deep freeze, gas prices across the region are going up.
According to the latest survey by GasBuddy.com, the price at the pump here in Maine rose in the past week 3.1 cents to an average $2.49 a gallon. Tuesday morning, prices at most places in Presque Isle were $2.67 a gallon on average.
New Hampshire saw its pump prices go up 1.9 cents to an average of $2.44 a gallon. Vermont's gas prices over the last week increased 4.2 cents landing at an average $2.53 a gallon.
The average across the country rose 3.9 cents to $2.48 this last week. That's 13. 6 cents higher than a year ago at this time and 1.3 cents higher than a month ago.
