Officer Nate Chisholm from the Van Buren Police Department and K9 Jazz just completed an 8-week narcotics detection school hosted by the Maine State Police and the Maine Criminal Justice Academy.

Jazz is a one year old Chocolate Labrador retriever who was born in Maine. Jazz is known as a single purpose canine, and will solely be used to sniff for illegal narcotics. Officer Chisholm and K9 Jazz will serve the citizens of Van Buren where Ofc. Chisholm has patrolled for the past approximate 5 years.

These teams are a valuable tool for Maine law enforcement to get drugs off the streets and help keep our communities safe.

Please join us in congratulating each team for this accomplishment and a safe and successful career.
