The Big East Maine basketball conference announced their weekly honors and 6 players from Aroostook County received an honor. Each week the Big East conference names a player of the week for the boys and girls, and has an "Honor Roll” to honor athletes who stood out each week.

With the weather taking over and canceling all events on Monday, I feel today is a good day to take a look at the standings, and see where everyone stands as we start a new week of games. Below are the standings for girls and boys Class B, C, and D Northern divisions.

The Northern District's Elk's Hoop Shoop foul shooting competing was held at the James F Doughty school in Bangor on Sunday. We are happy to report that three local youth have performed well enough to advance on to the state competition.

The Big East Conference of Maine announced their weekly awards and a Presque Isle star has taken home the top honor for the week.

An auto accident on Wednesday evening involving several members of the Hodgdon Hawks girls' basketball team has forced the school to adjust the schedule over the next few days.

On Wednesday night the Presque Isle Wildcats hosted Aroostook County rival the Caribou Vikings in Class B boys basketball action. The game was broadcasted on 101.9 The Rock.

As student's returned to school from the holiday break, a full schedule of local high school basketball was played throughout The County on Monday night.
