As Mainers are rebounding from a storm that dumped about a foot of snow in many areas on Monday, another powerful storm is expected to hit the entire state Wednesday night.

Another winter storm is bearing down on Aroostook County as the new year gets underway, bringing with it significant snowfall, sleet and freezing rain Tuesday night and Wednesday.
On the heels of a wet and windy January thaw, the National Weather Service says a winter storm could dump more than a foot of snow on northern Maine beginning Tuesday night.
Northern Maine weather is expected to turn messy this weekend with some snow and freezing rain followed by potentially heavy rain and strong winds late Sunday.
