If you’ve ever enjoyed a cold local brew in Northern New England, you already know—we don’t mess around when it comes to beer. And the proof is in the latest stats.
Downeast Maine is known for many things, including its rocky coastline, its fishing and lobstering history, the distinctive Downeast accent and Acadia National Park. Another thing the region has to offer is delicious craft beer.
Maine is known as a state that produces great craft beer. According to the Maine Brewer's Guild, as of early 2022, Maine had 165 active, licensed breweries, representing over 100 unique brands. There is quality beer all over the state, including up in Aroostook County, in far northern Maine.
Winter is finally out of here… well, we hope. Mainers are ready to get outside, and with mild temperatures expected soon, outdoor spring activities will resume.
If you live or have even visited one or both of these states, it probably won't surprise you that we are in beer country up here in Northern New England with these two states leading the US with the most breweries per capita.
