We’ve known for some time that Rogue One star Felicity Jones would steal the SNL plans as our first 2017 host, so who should follow? None other than Master of None star Aziz Ansari, booking his SNL debut for the week after.

Ahead of any official 2017 promos for Jones’ debut, SNL confirmed that Aziz Ansari would host the January 21 episode next weekend, joined by musical guest Big Sean. Both stars will be making their SNL debut, as with Felicity Jones and musical guest Sturgill Simpson this weekend.

For his part, Ansari has largely been busy filming the second season of his Emmy-winning Master of None, which takes place in both New York and Italy, picking up from the first season in 2015. Netflix has not yet set any kind of formal release date for the auteur-ish dramedy’s second year.

We’ll likely have SNL promos for Felicity Jones before long, but what should we expect from the first two shows of 2017?
