Jack’s Back and Bloodier Than Ever in Full ‘Samurai Jack’ Revival Trailer

It’s only been the better part of a decade for us, but Samurai Jack has spent a full fifty years waiting for his return, while Aku’s influence over the world has only grown. See for yourself in the full trailer for Season 5's March premiere, as Adult Swim makes full use of its timeslot for some bloody battles ahead.

Following this weekend’s tease, Adult Swim unsheathed a full promo for the fifth season of Genndy Tartakovsky’s legendary warrior, picking up some fifty years after the Cartoon Network finale. Jack’s apparent inability to age isn’t stopping some blood-soaked showdowns with Aku’s followers, while the full synopsis reads:

It’s been 50 years since we saw Samurai Jack and time has not been kind to him. Aku has destroyed every time portal and Jack has stopped aging, a side effect of time travel. It seems he is cursed to just roam the land for all eternity.

The series is set to premiere on March 11 at 11:30 P.M., while writer Darrick Bachman previously described of the return:

I think we’re going to see [Jack] in a new light because we’re going to see him from a different standpoint. In the original series he was very heroic person on a very rigid quest. Now we pick up with him an it’s many years after the fact and he’s a little bit lost. So it’s a story of redemption and him trying to find who he is again.
