Saint John Valley Man Thrown from Vehicle in Late Night Wallagrass Crash

A 23-year-old Fort Kent man was airlifted to a Bangor hospital with serious injuries early Sunday morning after he was thrown from his car in a single-vehicle crash. 

Maine State Police responded to a crash on Route 11 in Wallagrass at approximately 1:15 a.m. An individual reported that a crash had occurred, and it appeared that the operator had been ejected and was lying in the roadway.

The initial investigation revealed that Thomas Levesque had been traveling north on Aroostook Road in Wallagrass when he lost control of his vehicle and then left the roadway.

The 2004 Subaru went into a ditch, rolled over and came to a rest on its roof on an embankment.

Police say Levesque was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent by Ambulance Inc. of Fort Kent and later air lifted to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with serious injuries.

Investigators say it appears that speed and alcohol are factors in the crash.

Troopers Curtin, Luce, and Corporal Chuck Michaud responded to the scene as did Warden Adrian Marquis. The Fort Kent Fire Department also assisted at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
