The Boston Red Sox took the 2nd game of the 3 game series with the Kansas City Royals, as Chris Sale was dominant, limiting the Royals to just 3 hits, and pitching a complete game. The Red Sox won 8-0 on Wednesday, June 5th in Kansas City.

Sale struck out 12 and didn't walk a batter. He threw just 102 pitches in the complete game, including an immaculate inning in the 8th inning when he struck out the side on 9 pitches. It was the 2nd such inning this season for the ace. He did it back on May 8th against the Orioles, and became the 2nd pitcher ever to throw 2 in one season. Lefty Grove did it in 1928!

The Red Sox had 11 hits. Rafael Devers was 2-5 with his 9th homer of the season and a double. Andrew Benintendi was 3-4 with a double. Brock Holt was 3-5. Jackie Bradley Jr. had a double and drove in 3 runs. Sandy Leon had a double

The win moves the Red Sox to within 6.5 games of the 1st place Yankees who lost their 3rd game in a row.

The Red Sox will play the Royals Wednesday afternoon in the final game of the 3 game series. The pregame starts at 12:10 with the 1st pitch at 1:15. Hear the games on AM 1370 WDEA in the Ellsworth and Bar Harbor area and The Rock 101.9 FM, WOZI in Presque Isle
