It took just 2 hours and 16 minutes for the Boston Red Sox to shutout the Los Angeles Angels 3-0 on Thursday night, August 8th in the 1st game of the 4 game series. It was a return to form of their ace Chris Sale who struck out 13 and allowed just 2 hits.

Sale went 8 innings and didn't walk a batter. He retired 16 consecutive batters from the final out of the 1st inning through the final out of the 6th inning.
