It seemed odd on Thursday night, that the Boston Red Sox didn't call upon Heath Hembree to pitch the 9th in their 7-6 win over Texas. In fact, he was the lone bullpen pitcher not to pitch. Now we know why, as the Red Sox placed Hembree on the 10 Day Injured list Friday afternoon, retroactive to June 11th.

Hembree was diagnosed with a right elbow extensor strain. To fill Hembree's spot on the 25 man roster, the club recalled left handed pitcher Josh Taylor from Triple A Pawtucket.

The Red Sox open a 3 game series in Baltimore against the Orioles on Friday night, with Eduardo Rodriguez scheduled to take the mound for Boston. You can hear that game and every game on AM 1370 WDEA in the Ellsworth and Bar Harbor area and The Rock 101.9 FM, WOZI in Presque Isle
