The Boston Red Sox' early season frustrations continued on Thursday afternoon, as they fell to the Oakland A's 7-3. The Red Sox starting pitching was again the problem, as Eduardo Rodriguez gave up 6 runs in 3.2 innings.

His line was 3.2 innings pitched, 8 hits allowed, 6 runs, 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. Again the long ball was a problem as he gave up a 3 run homer to Stephen Piscotty to tie the game after the Red Sox had taken a 3-0 lead.

The Red Sox had 10 hits with Andrew Benintendi and JD Martinez each had 2 hits. Martinez hit his 3rd homer of the season, a solo shot in the 3rd inning.

The Boston Red Sox, now 2-6 head to Arizona on Friday for a 3 game series and the end to their 11 game road trip to open the season. Rick Porcello will pitch for Boston with the pregame starting at 6:10 and first pitch at 7:10 on AM 1370 WDEA
