The Boston Red Sox batted around in the 3rd inning, sending 14 batters to the plate, scoring 9 runs and beat the Chicago White Sox in Chicago on Saturday, May 4th 15-2.

The Red Sox had 10 consecutive hits, all coming with 2 outs in the 3rd inning. The Red Sox hit 3 homer in that inning with Xander Bogaerts hitting his 5th of the season, Michael Chavis his 5th, and Eduardo Nunez, just activated from the Injured Reserve, his 1st.

Chavis, would also hit his 6th homer of the season, in the 5th inning,. Chavis now has 6 homers in his 14 major league games and is batting .354.

Every Red Sox started had a hit, as the Red Sox banged out 20 hits, their season high.  Chavis finished 4-6, with the 2 homers and a double.  Andrew Benintendi was 3-5 with a double. Mookie Betts had a double. Rafael Devers had 2 hits, with a double. Steve Pearce had 2 hits and Christian Vazquez was 4-5

Meanwhile on the mound Eduardo Rodriguez threw 6 innings, allowing 1 hit and 1 run while striking out 6 and walking 2. He's now 3-2 on the season.

The Red Sox have now won 5 of their last 6 games and 7 of their last 10 games. The are now 16-18 and in 3rd place, 5.5 games behind the 1st place Tampa Bay Rays.

The Red Sox will play Chicago Sunday afternoon in the final game of the 4 game series. Rick Porcello is scheduled to start for Boston. The pregame starts at 1:10 and 1st pitch at 2:10 on AM 1370 WDEA in Ellsworth and Bar Harbor area and The Rock 101.9 FM, WOZI in Presque Isle.
