The Edward Little Red Eddies erased a 12-point fourth quarter deficit on the road to beat a shocked Rams team 22-19 in Friday's season opener.

Quarterback, Matt Verrill, connected with Drew Lashua for the game-winning 24-yard touchdown with 46 seconds left. The score came one play after E.L. had a touchdown negated when the referees awarded Bangor head coach Al Mosca with a timeout, claiming Mosca called for the break before the snap of the ball.

Verrill finished the game 13-of-25 with 174 yards and two TD's through the air.

Bangor led 19-7 early in the fourth quarter, but were outscored 15-0 by E.L. over the game's final five minutes.

Dane Johnson ran for 157 yards and two scores on 31 attempts in the losing effort for Bangor. Jeff Lewis completed 5-of-8 passes for the Rams, with one touchdown and two interceptions.
