A Lakeville, New Brunswick woman has been arrested and released on a promise to appear in court for possession of illegal drugs and other contraband.

According to the Southeast District RCMP's Crime Reduction Unit, mounties executed separate drug search warrants at two houses in Lakeville.

The report went on to say that on Friday afternoon, a quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana and contraband cigarettes were seized and a 42-year-old woman from Lakeville was arrested and released on a promise to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on November 13, 2018.

Another bust was made by mounties later that afternoon as police executed a drug search warrant at a residence on Biddington Avenue in Lakeville.

Mounties say that a quantity of marijuana and contraband cigarettes was seized.

A 40-year-old man from Lakeville was arrested and released on a promise to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on November 13 of this year.

At this time, it is not believed the two are connected.

Both investigations are continuing.
