Gas prices around New England are still creeping upward.


According to's latest survey, the price at the pump here in Maine rose 1.9 cents to an average $2.56 a gallon. That's almost 20 cents cheaper than the average price of $2.75 in Presque Isle.

New Hampshire saw an increase of 2.3 cents to an average price of $2.49 a gallon. And in Vermont, regular rose 1.3 cents, averaging $2.60 a gallon

The national average price remained flat from the previous week at $2.53 a gallon. Last month it was 8.8 cents cheaper than now, but is 22.7 cents a gallon higher than a year ago at this time.
