The RCMP is asking the public for information that may help solve a stabbing incident just outside Moncton.

At approximately 3 a.m. last Thursday, Southeast District RCMP responded to a report that a 24-year-old Moncton woman had been stabbed in a wooded area off the Brigg Cross Road in Lutes Mountain.

The stabbing occurred shortly after midnight and when police arrived, the victim had already been transported to hospital, where she was being treated for her injuries, according to RCMP Cpl. Clay Wortman.
