The Perth-Andover RCMP is looking for a man who appeared to be carrying a firearm on the walking trail near Grierson Street Friday evening around 7:30 p.m.

Police said he was last seen near Legion Street, running into a wooded area. New Brunswick RCMP's Police Dog Service assisted in the search. He was not located and officials are asking for the public’s help in finding him.

RCMP said the suspect has several tattoos, and described him as short and bald. He was wearing jeans with no shirt. He had a grey t-shirt was wrapped around his arm.

The Royal Canadian Legion was holding an event at the time and patrons were asked to stay inside while police searched. People were able to leave around until 10 p.m. after the immediate area was cleared, said authorities.
