So yes, I'm a bit late to the party on this.  Last night I watched my very first episode of 'The Voice' on NBC.  It happened to be the season premiere and yes, I did enjoy it.  There are a LOT of talented people out there and the judges have great chemistry.  However, it doesn't seem to be as balanced as it should be.

We saw Steven Tyler take a judgeship on 'American Idol' a couple of years ago.  I'll be the first to admit I thought he lost a bit of rock and roll cred, but he was great on the show and Aerosmith's album sales skyrocketed.  Tyler could be a genius.  He did take a lot of heat though and I wonder if that's why more 'Rock' stars haven't followed in his tracks.

'The Voice' has representation from the country genre with Blake Shelton and the pop genre from all of the other 3 judges.  Where is the rock and roll judge?  Does no one sing rock and roll anymore?  Well I think I can tell you why.  Rock and roll singers are singing rock and roll, now, as we speak, in a little dive bar all over the world.  Not to say that there aren't country singers doing the same, but there is a stigma with rock and roll.  It's called paying your dues.

Yell at me on Facebook.
