Canadians, although briefly, received a $2 hike in beer prices on Monday and then that decision was reversed on the same day as management made the decision to do so.

CBC News reports that for a brief period the price of some beer brands shot up to $2 and then came back down.

According to Mark Barbour, with NB Liquor, Monday was the beginning of a new month and the decsion for the hike in brew was made a year ago.

When exectutives made the decision a year ago, they did not factor in the fact that Monday was to be an election day.

So, for now, beer prices are were they were prior to Election Day in Canada, but Barbour states that a price hike in the adult beverages is still on the way, but when the hike will take place is still unknown.
