We’re an Ultimate Classic Rock station.  That being said, there are a lot of listeners in our area that have requested exposure to some newer music.  There’s a lot of great rock and roll out there so in an attempt to highlight the cream of the crop I’m introducing our ‘Modern Rock Song of the Day.’  Each day I will feature a relatively new band that is making waves.  Today it’s Sick Puppies.

(note: language)

Sick Puppies formed in 1997 in Austrailia by singer/guitarist Shimon Moore and bassist Emma Anzai.  Through their own financing and support from their parents, they released their debut EP, Dog’s Breakfast.  In 2000 Sick Puppies entered a band competition and co-won with two other bands, landing them a management and record deal.  Thirteen years and four full albums later their latest single is called ‘There’s No Going Back’ and it currently sits near the top of the mainstream rock charts.
