Troop 'F' of the Maine State Police based in Houlton, responded to 139 calls for service in the past week. Here are a few of the incidents posted in their weekly log:

Incident Type: OUI / Habitual Offender Date: 10/17/2016 Town: Portage Lake Trooper: Cpl. Hafford. Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Hafford was dispatched to Portage Lake for a vehicle that had struck a building. The operator left the scene and was located a short time later by a game warden. After an investigation, Cpl. Hafford arrested the 59-year-old male for OUI and operating after revocation. The male was also on probation and his probation officer put a hold on him, Cpl. Hafford transported him to the Aroostook County Jail.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 10/17/2016 Town: Caribou. Trooper: Cpl. Michaud Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Michaud stopped a vehicle in Caribou for an expired inspection sticker and several motor vehicle defects. A license check revealed that the Caribou man’s license was under suspension. He was summoned to court for Operating After Suspension.

Incident Type: Crash Date: 10/18/2016 Town: New Limerick Trooper: Tr. Saucier Brief Synopsis: Tr. Saucier responded to a personal injury rollover crash on the Campbell Rd in New Limerick. The subsequent investigation showed McCarty was traveling north on the Campbell Rd when he fell asleep at the wheel. McCarty’s 2006 Ford SUV crossed the centerline and left the roadway striking a utility pole before rolling over and coming to rest on its side. McCarty’s two children; Bentley McCarty age 2 and Zachary McCarty age 4 were passengers. Zachary was ejected from the vehicle. Restraint systems were believed to be in use by all three, but Zachary was known to unbuckle his while driving. All three occupants were transported by Houlton Ambulance and sustained non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Incident Type: Crash / Agency Assist Date: 10/19/2016 Town: Ludlow Trooper: Tr. Saucier Brief Synopsis: Tr. Saucier took a report of a vehicle that had struck another vehicle in Ludlow and fled the scene. A short time before the crash, Houlton PD had taken a report of a stolen motor vehicle which matched the description of the offending vehicle in the hit and run crash. A search ensued for the vehicle and other agencies were alerted to search for the stolen vehicle. The vehicle was ultimately pulled over by East Millinocket PD at the Medway exit. The operator was under the influence and was arrested and charged with multiple violations. Tr. Saucier traveled to East Millinocket to transfer the man to the Aroostook County Jail. The arrested man was from Georgia, and had interacted with law enforcement earlier in the day in Houlton. He had also been arrested by Ashland PD earlier in the week when he was found in a stolen vehicle from Georgia. He had been released from jail from the earlier stolen vehicle and proceeded to steal this second vehicle to head south.

Incident Type: Protection Order Violation Date: 10/19/2016 Town: Monticello Trooper: Tr. Pescitelli Brief Synopsis: Tr. Pescitelli received a complaint from Houlton RCC regarding a possible Violation of Protection Order. Upon meeting with the complainant it was discovered that the suspect had sent the protected party an email. Tr. Pescitelli went to the suspect’s residence and upon questioning the suspect admitted to the violation. Tr. Pescitelli arrested the suspect and brought him to Aroostook County Jail. This is the second time in the past couple weeks the subject has been arrested for violation of the protection order.

Incident Type: Violation of Bail Date: 10/20/2016 Town: Monticello Trooper: Tr. Pescitelli Brief Synopsis: On the above date Tr. Pescitelli received a complaint regarding two subjects, a male and female, arguing in the front yard of a residence. We were also informed that there were kids involved. Tr. Pescitelli and Tr. Foxworthy responded and found a female looking upset and crying walking down the road with a child. Upon investigation it was discovered that she had been arguing with her boyfriend whom was on bail not to have contact with her. While interviewing the female the male came out and starting talking to the female. The boyfriend was arrested for violation of bail and taken to Aroostook County Jail.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 10/20/2016 Town: Houlton Trooper: Tr. Adams Brief Synopsis: While patrol in Houlton, Tr. Adams saw a black Chevy Impala pull into a gas station and recognized the vehicle as belonging to a person that he charged with OAS a few days prior. Tr. Adams recognized the male operator and upon conversation, the operator that he was driving and knew that he should not be. The male was arrested for OAS and violation of conditions of release and transported to the Aroostook County Jail. This is the male’s seventh OAS charge since July.

Incident Type: Warrant Date: 10/20/2016 Town: Fort Kent Trooper: Tr. Desrosier Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier and Tr. Luce arrested a 64-year-old Fort Kent man on a warrant after he failed to appear in court for an OUI charge.

Incident Type: Warrant Date: 10/21/2016 Town: Patten Trooper: Tr. Sucy Brief Synopsis: Tr. Sucy arrested a 22-year-old Island Falls man on a warrant in Patten. The warrant was for escape and the man had been hiding from law enforcement. Tr. Sucy brought the man to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

Incident Type: Warrant Date: 10/21/2016 Town: Blaine Trooper: Tr. Kilcollins Brief Synopsis: Tr. Kilcollins and Cpl. Quint arrested a 32-year-old Blaine man on several outstanding warrants after he failed to pay his fines on a variety of charges. The man was arrested and transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

Incident Type: Warrant Date: 10/21/2016 Town: Sherman Trooper: Tr. Adams Brief Synopsis: Tr. Adams responded to a residence for a complaint involving a stolen dog. While at the residence Tr. Adams learned that the owner’s boyfriend had two active warrants for his arrest. Tr. Adams arrested him and transported him to the Aroostook County Jail.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 10/22/2016 Town: Soldier Pond Trooper: Tr. Curtin Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin stopped a Wallagrass man for operating a dirt bike on a public way. The male subject also had no lights on while driving on the road. It was discovered that the operator of the dirt bike had a suspended license and he was subsequently cited for Operating After Suspension.

Incident Type: Family Fight Date: 10/22/2016 Town: Castle Hill Trooper: Tr. Casavant Brief Synopsis: Trooper Casavant responded to a family fight in Castle Hill. An intoxicated male subject called and wanted his adult, male son removed from the residence. When Trooper Casavant arrived, the son had already left the residence. The father was very intoxicated and was not co-operative. The son, who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, was not located.

Incident Type: Family Fight Date: 10/23/2016 Town: Bridgewater Trooper: Tr. Sylvia Brief Synopsis: Trooper Sylvia responded to a Bridgewater residence. An adult male called and said his father had thrown him out of the house and wouldn’t let him take his vehicle for a ride. Trooper Sylvia spoke with the father and son and the pair agreed to attempt to settle their differences another day. The adult son decided to stay with his mother for the night.
