Incident Type: OUI Date: 11/26/2017 Town: CHAPMAN Trooper: TR. LEVESQUE Brief Synopsis: Tr. Levesque responded to a complaint about a vehicle nearly hitting the C1 head-on in Chapman. The C1 boxed the offending vehicle in and prevented him from leaving. The man was not cooperative and was arrested for OUI. The man was taken to Presque Isle PD where he refused chemical testing even after being read implied consent. The man was transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton. Because of his history, the charge will be felony level.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 11/27/2017 Town: CARY PLANTATION Trooper: TR. ADAMS Brief Synopsis: Tr. Adams went to an address in Houlton looking for a male with an active warrant. The male was not there. The male called the RCC inquiring about why a Trooper showed up there. Tr. Adams called the male back and the male agreed to meet Tr. Adams. The male was arrested and transported to the Aroostook County Jail and booked in for the warrant for failure to appear class E.

Incident Type: ACCIDENT Date: 11/27/2017 Town: ISLAND FALLS Trooper: TR. STOUTAMYER Brief Synopsis: Jeffrey Rutter was traveling south on Interstate 95 in the town of Island Falls. Rutter was attempting to pass a tractor trailer who was also traveling south. The tractor trailer was in the right-hand driving lane, and Rutter’s vehicle was passing in the left hand passing lane. The road surface was wet except for the outer left half of the passing lane which was covered with slush. Rutter stated that as he was passing the tractor trailer his vehicle got caught in the slush, and the slush pulled his left wheels off the side of the roadway. Rutter over corrected which caused the vehicle to skid sideways off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle then rolled over more than once and came to rest on the passenger side in some trees. Rutter and his 2 passengers had to be extricated from the vehicle as they were trapped inside for a short time. Rutter was transporting passengers to Scarborough ME. for an appointment. The passengers were 75-year-old Juliette Madore, and her daughter 46-year-old Brenda Madore both of Van Buren. Rutter was not injured but his passengers suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Houlton Regional Hospital by ambulance.

Incident Type: SUSPENDED REGISTRATION Date: 11/28/2017 Town: LINNEUS Trooper: TR. BELL Brief Synopsis: Tr. Bell observed a Jeep in Linneus with a suspended registration due to a toll violation. The Jeep was stopped and the driver summonsed for operating a vehicle with a suspended registration. The driver admitted to going through a toll recently without paying.

Incident Type: ACCIDENT - SERIOUS INJURY Date: 11/28/2017 Town: WESTFIELD Trooper: CPL. MICHAUD Brief Synopsis: On 11/28/2017 at approximately 9 PM State Police were called to the scene of a crash on Route 1 in Westfield. A motorist reported being flagged down by a young child who reported that she and her mother were in a crash and her mother was injured. Cpl. Chuck Michaud responded to the crash as did Troopers Jared Sylvia, Tim Saucier, and Rob Flynn. Cpl. Michaud’s investigation revealed that 26-year-old Lili Parady and her 8-year-old daughter had been traveling south on Route 1 in Westfield when Parady failed to negotiate a turn and drove off the road and struck a large tree just north of the Miller Road intersection. The Mars Hill Fire Department responded to the scene and extricated Parady from the 2009 Toyota Camry using hydraulic cutters. Parady and her daughter were both transported to The Aroostook Medical Center by Crown Ambulance. Parady with serious injuries and her daughter with minor injuries. Parady was later flown to Eastern Maine Medical Center for further treatment while her daughter was treated and released. The cause of the crash remains under investigation and it is unclear why Parady failed to negotiate the turn. It appeared that while her young daughter was secured in the back seat and wearing her seatbelt, Parady was not wearing her seatbelt. The 2009 Camry was demolished in the crash.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 11/30/2017 Town: LITTLETON Trooper: CPL. QUINT Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Quint stopped a vehicle that was reported driving erratically in Bridgewater. The vehicle was driving 86 mph in a posted 55 mph zone when the traffic stop was made. The male driver and his female passenger stated they were in a hurry to get to the jail to visit two inmates. The male had a suspended driver’s license. The man was issued a criminal summons for OAS and a traffic summons for speeding.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL TRESPASS Date: 11/30/2017 Town: ALLAGASH Trooper: TR. CURTIN Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin met with an Allagash man when he reported that 2 men had knocked on his door in the early morning hours and entered his house without permission. The two men were known to the complainant, however, attempts to locate the 2 were not immediately successful. Later during the day, Tr. Curtin spoke with the complainant a second time and informed him that he had worked out his issues with the men and everything between them was all set.

Incident Type: DRUGS Date: 12/01/2017 Town: CRYSTAL Trooper: TR. DUFF Brief Synopsis: Tr. Duff received information of a man in Crystal with two open warrants. The man is known to hide from law enforcement and has had the warrants for some time. Tr. Duff and Cpl. Quint approached the house and while Cpl. Quint was talking to a man in the front of the house Tr. Duff could see the subject hiding in a back room and it appeared he was trying to conceal/destroy evidence of a crime. Tr. Duff and Cpl. Quint entered the residence and the man was arrested without incident. There was evidence of methamphetamines and heroin in the residence. The man is facing probation revocation and new charges for the possessing drugs and paraphernalia.

Incident Type: ACCIDENT Date: 12/01/2017 Town: WOODLAND Trooper: CPL. MICHAUD Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Michaud responded to a crash in Woodland when it was reported that a young male subject had struck some guardrails and damaged his vehicle. The operator reported to having some minor injuries. A light rain had coated the pavement making some spots very slippery. When Cpl. Michaud arrived at the scene, he discovered that the ambulance that had responded had also lost control and crash in the same location that the original crash had happened. There were no injuries in the second crash, and the Caribou Fire and Ambulance unit could be driven from the scene.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL TRESPASS Date: 12/01/2017 Town: MONTICELLO Trooper: TR. SYLVIA Brief Synopsis: Tr. Sylvia investigated a criminal trespassing complaint in Monticello. A property owner reported that he wanted a female subject warned not to return to his property. Once the woman is located, she will be warned not to return to the Gentle Road property.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 12/02/2017 Town: LITTLETON Trooper: TR. DUFF Brief Synopsis: Tr. Duff stopped a vehicle in Littleton for a traffic infraction. During the course of the stop he discovered the male driver has a suspended driver’s license for failing to make required payment of fines and costs. The man was issued a traffic summons for the OAS infraction.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 12/03/2017 Town: EASTON Trooper: TR. LEVESQUE Brief Synopsis: Tr. Levesque arrested a man with three active arrest warrants. Tr. Levesque and Sgt. Clark went to the man’s residence in Easton with the intent to arrest him. They were able to locate the man and he was arrested without incident. Tr. Levesque transported the man to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 12/03/2017 Town: EASTON Trooper: SGT. CLARK Brief Synopsis: Sgt. Clark stopped a vehicle in Easton for a traffic infraction. The driver was issued a traffic summons for speeding and for not having proof of insurance. There was a female passenger as well that had a warrant for her arrest. Sgt. Clark arrested the female on the warrant and transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.
