Woodland Outlasts Bangor Christian In Back-and-forth Battle [BOYS]

The top-seed Woodland Dragons has all they could handle with No. 8 Bangor Christian Monday night before pulling out a quarterfinal win at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

Woodland was able to pull away late in the fourth quarter for a 53-45 win over the Patriots after leading by only two points after three quarters.

Drew Hayward had 16 points for Woodland and Justin Worden had 15 points.

Schenck Rolls Over GHCA in Quarterfinal Win [BOYS]

The Schenck Wolverines outran and overpowered Greater Houlton Christian in a Monday night quarterfinal match-up at the Cross Insurance Center.

Senior Riley Dionne led the way for the Wolverines of East Millinocket with 22 points in the 54-30 win over the Eagles.

No 5 Schenck (9-10) led from start to finish on their way to the semifinals.

Dionne was named the McDonald's Player of the Game. Travis Thompson added 10 points for Schenck.

Top-seed Southern Aroostook Overpowers Jonesport-Beals [GIRLS]

The top-seed Southern Aroostook Warriors defeated the Jonesport-Beals girls Monday afternoon to earn a spot in the Class D North semifinals.

Although the No. 9 Royalettes were able to hang with the Warriors at times, Southern Aroostook extended its lead in the second half on the way to a 71-39 quarterfinal victory at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

Captains Kassidy Mathers and Makaelyn Porter each scored 16 points in the win. Freshman center Kacey Daggett added 14 points for the Warriors. Sydney Brewer had 11 points. >>FULL STORY>>

Katahdin Ousts Defending North Champ Shead [GIRLS]

The Katahdin girls withstood a second half comeback from the defending regional champion Shead Tigers on their way to a quarterfinal win in Bangor Monday.

Senior Natalie Rickards scored 18 points for the No. 5 Cougars in the 23-21 win.

No. 4 Shead started out slowly, scoring only two points in the first half. Despite that, Shead had a chance to tie the score late in the game, but a key steal from junior guard Hannah Kyllonen helped seal the win for Katahdin (9-10).

Jonesport-Beals Holds Off Tough Southern Aroostook Team [BOYS]

No. 2 Jonesport Beals held off a tough 10-seed Southern Aroostook Monday morning to advance to the Class D North semifinals.

Jonesport Beals came out with a had-fought 64-55 win after the Warriors kept it close, and pushed the Royals into the final minutes.

Sophomore guard Adam Robinson led the way for the Royals with 14 points. Kaiden Crowley, another sophomore, added 10 points. Off the bench, Austin Grant also had 10 points. >>FULL STORY>>

Machias Upends Katahdin To Earn Semifinal Spot [BOYS]

The No. 6 Machias Bulldogs took down the No. 3 Katahdin Cougars Monday morning in the first Class D North quarterfinal game in Bangor.

Machias, the defending state champions, came away with a 56-47 win over Katahdin, who struggled offensively in the early morning contest at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
