Sandy Leon whacked a monster home run into the monster seats at Fenway Park in the 12th inning and the Red Sox walked off with a 3-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

A sudden ending to a bigtime pitcher's duel for both sides.

First, Chris Sale and his Sox debut. Seven innings of shutout ball, striking out seven, one walk and just three hits.

But Pirates pitcher Jameson Taillon matched him.

And then the bullpen matched each other.

And then came the 12th inning. Jackie Bradley Jr drew a walk and stole second base. Pablo Sandoval walked. Then Leon with his three-run blast, his third hit of the night.

Joe Kelly picked up the win, pitching two scoreless innings.

The Sox are 2-0 with an afternoon game scheduled vs the Pirates today.
