After putting their cover-song-performing talents to use every night during the lengthy WorldWired tour, Metallica's Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo decided to gather up some friends and play a few more last night (July 26). Calling themselves the Wedding Band, they played at Cosmo Music in Toronto.

The Wedding Band was rounded out by Ugly Kid Joe frontman Whitfield Crane, Queens of the Stone Age drummer Joey Castillo and Dallas "Doc" Coyle, who used to play with God Forbid. A fan captured them playing Motorhead's "Ace of Spades," two Black Sabbath songs -- "War Pigs" and "Iron Man" -- and, befitting their name, Chic's "Le Freak." Check them all out below.

The evening coincided with the recent opening of It's Alive!, an exhibition of pieces from Hammett's famed collection of art from vintage horror and science fiction films that is is running at the Royal Ontario Museum through Jan. 5, 2020. The items on display cover nearly 60 years of posters, from 1921's The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari up through Ridley Scott's 1979 classic Alien.

"It's the culmination of about 30 years of collecting," he told the CBC, adding, "I love the art, I love the imagery, I love what they invoke in me, and I love being surrounded by my movie posters and playing my guitar."

And even though he's been watching horror films since he was a boy and surrounds himself with its iconography, he said that he's still capable of getting scared.

“When I see a situation that I live in from day to day and it’s put into a horror situation," he revealed to the Toronto Sun, "I get a little nervous, you know. And I’ll admit it’s hard for me sometimes to watch a horror movie when I’m alone at night in my hotel room because I have an active imagination. And sometimes I like the safety of watching horror movies when I’m traveling during the day on a plane. Or just watching horror movies during the day. I can freak myself out."
