Mid-December Nor’easter to Dump Snow across Maine & New Brunswick

The bare December landscape we’ve seen across Maine and New Brunswick is being transformed into a winter wonderland one week before Christmas.

A  slow-moving storm system will continue to dump snow on northern Maine and New Brunswick into the start of the work week. The National Weather Service has extended its Winter Storm Warning to include all of Aroostook County until around 1:00 p.m. Monday with an additional 8-12 inches of snow possible.

Total snowfall from the storm is expected to range from 12 to 24 inches by the time it winds down early Monday afternoon.

Here is the updated weather forecast for Aroostook County and western New Brunswick:

Sunday ~ Snow. High near 33/+1 Celsius. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

Sunday night ~ Snow. Low around 29/-1C.  2 to 4 inches possible overnight.

Monday ~ Snow winding down around midday. High near 33. Brisk winds.  Additional accumulation of 1 to 4 inches possible.

Monday Night ~ A chance of snow showers in the evening. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26.
