A yearly tradition is coming once again to the St. John Valley.

The University of Maine at Fort Kent will host its annual “Sucrerie” on Thursday, March 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nowland Hall on the UMFK campus.

In years past, this homage to maple sugar has drawn more than 300 members of the community to campus. The “Sucrerie” features a traditional maple taffy pull and taste testing on snow, ployes, an Acadian meal, and live entertainment. A nominal fee of $10 per plate will be charged for the Acadian meal and entertainment, only.

Local school teachers interested in bringing their classes to the event should contact the University Relations office in advance.
