According to ESPN's Adam Schefter. the New England Patriots have claimed tight end Martellus Bennett after the Green Bay Packers waived him yesterday.

It's the same Martellus Bennett who played for the Patriots last season. catching 55 passes for 700 yards and seven TDs.

The Pats let him walk in free agency and he signed a 3-year, $21 million dollar deal with the Packers.

Clearly the split between Bennett and the Packers is not clean. The team claims he did not disclose a shoulder injury during their bye week and missed practice coming off the bye week.

For the Patriots, they have to inherit the contract but could release early in 2018 and rid themselves from the rest of the contract.

NOTE: The Patriots play in Denver Sunday night. Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket has live coverage starting with the pregame show at 5"30-m.
