Good News Bad News for Red Sox’ Chris Sale

The Boston Red Sox received good and bad news in regards to their left handed ace Chris Sale, when he went to visit Dr. James Andrews.

According to the release from the Boston Red Sox,

“Sale was evaluated by Dr. James Andrews this morning in Pensacola, Florida. Dr. Andrews confirmed that Sale has inflammation in his left elbow and treated it with a platelet-rich plasma injection. Dr. Andrews also recommended a period of shutdown from throwing. Sale will be re-evaluated in six weeks by Dr. Andrews.”

So, the good news is Chris Sale does not need Tommy John surgery. The bad news is he is lost for the rest of the season.
