C’s Beat Grizz, Cavs Next [VIDEO]
A week ago, the Boston Celtics didn't have a single win against a team with a .600 winning percentage or better. Now, thanks to a pair of W's, the Celt's have helped to knock the Memphis Grizzlies from that echelon of NBA teams.Boston earned its fifth win in six games by beating the Grizzlies, 113-103 at the T.D. Garden Tuesday night.
The C's were sparked by an unlikely hero, as reserve guard, Gerald Green, came off the bench to score 19 points (on 7-of-10 shooting) in 19 minutes. The Garden crowd made sure to show their support for Green, who made multiple exits to standing ovations in just his 15th game played this season.
Avery Bradley scored a team-high, 23 points and grabbed seven boards, while Isaiah Thomas added 21 points and seven assists. The 21 points for Thomas was his 16th consecutive 20+ point performance, the longest such scoring streak in the NBA this season.
At 19-13, the Celtics are next in action Thursday night, when they travel to Cleveland for a prime-time showdown with the defending world-champion, Cavaliers, at 8 p.m.
