Thursday Night Fire in Caribou Under Investigation
The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a suspicious fire at a house on Lower Lyndon Street in Caribou. **This story has been updated here.
Caribou Fire & Ambulance Department responded to the blaze after 8 p.m. Thursday, according to Caribou Fire Chief Scott Susi. The two-story single family home is located near Sleeper's store not far from U.S. Route 1.
Twenty-eight firefighters remained on scene for about 2 1/2 hours., Chief Susi said. Presque Isle Fire Department provided mutual aid at the fire station.
The investigation into the fire was immediately turned over to the Department of Public Safety.
