Family Displaced after House and Garage Fire in Maine

A family was displaced, a house was severely damaged and a garage was destroyed after a fire Friday night in Kennebunkport.

Garage and House Fire

Firefighters from multiple departments arrived on the scene around 7:30 pm. The residential property on Main Street is known as “The Tamaracks.”

Motorcycle Possible Cause

“Investigators say a motorcycle that had been started just minutes before the fire began is being considered a possible cause. Several vehicles stored in or near the garage were also destroyed in the blaze,” said the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Family Displaced

A family was displaced in a home next door that had significant fire damage.

Ongoing Fire Investigation

No one was injured. The Fire Marshal responded to the fire and the investigation is ongoing.

Multiple Fire Departments

Several fire departments were on the scene including Kennebunkport, Kennebunk, Wells, Arundel and Biddeford.
