Presque Isle native Ellis Paul has lived an amazing life so far. He's played Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the list goes on. He's released critically acclaimed albums, worked with some amazing performers, and has won a myriad of awards. Now he's coming home to do the commencement address at the University and more.

It wasn't long ago that Ellis (known to area family and friends as Paul Plissy) was in town to be inducted into the Presque Isle High School Athletics Hall of Fame for his days in track and field. Now he's back to receive an honorary degree and perform the commencement speech at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. On Sunday afternoon he'll be performing at UMPI's Campus Center to help raise funds for the school's auditorium upgrade.

I had a chance to speak with Ellis Paul on the phone. Listen to the interview below.

Local singer/songwriter Travis Cyr will open the show at 3pm.
