The Boston Red Sox beat the Minnesota Twins 9-4 on Wednesday, June 19th. The Red Sox are now 12-1 in their last 13 games on "getaway days" and ended the road trip with a 5-1 record. The Red Sox are off on Thursday, June 20th, and have played 33 games in 34 days from May 17th thru June 19th.

Wednesday night Eduardo Rodriguez went 7 innings, on a night when the bullpen was depleted after Tuesday night's 17 inning game. He allowed 4 runs, and 8 hits while striking out 9 and walking 3. With the win, he improves to 8-4 on the season. Matt Barnes pitched the 8th and Marcus Walden the 9th innings.

Mookie Betts, Rafael Devers, Eduardo Nunez, and Michael Chavis all had 2 hits, as Boston banged out 12 hits on the night. Bogaerts and Benintendi each had a double while Mookie Betts hit his 2nd triple of the season.

Of concern was the fact that Rafael Devers left the game with hamstring tightness. He's considered day-to-day.

Prior to the game, the Red Sox put Hector Velazquez back on the 10 day injured list with a low back strain, just a day after he was restored to the active roster. They recalled Josh Smith to take his place.

The Red Sox will open a 6 game homestand against the Blue Jays and White Sox before being off on June 27th and 28th and then will play the Yankees in London on June 29th and 30th.  You can hear those games and every game on AM 1370 WDEA in the Ellsworth and Bar Harbor area and The Rock 101.9 FM, WOZI in Presque Isle
