Despite warnings from health officials, some bottled water found to be contaminated is still on the shelves in some New England stores. According to WGME, recent testing found water bottled by Spring Hill Farm Dairy in Haverhill, Massachusetts to contain high levels of PFAS chemicals. What exactly are PFAS chemicals? According to Wikipedia:

Perfluorooctanoic acid is a perfluorinated carboxylic acid produced and used worldwide as an industrial surfactant in chemical processes and as a material feedstock, and is known as an emerging health concern and subject of regulatory action and voluntary industrial phase-outs.

Well that certainly doesn't sound like something that I'd want to put in my body! So why is this tainted water still on the shelves in some stores in New England? The producers of the bottled water day that there's nothing to worry about, and that the chemical levels in its water are within federal guidelines. But if state officials are recommending that we not drink it, I think I'll go ahead and take their advice.
