Rafael Devers drove in 4 runs as the Boston Red Sox hung on to beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 at Fenway Park on Wednesday, July 17th.

Devers was 3-5 with a double and a homer, his 18th of the season. He now has 20 RBIs in 28 games beginning on June 11. His 25 RBIs against the Blue Jays in 2019 are the most by a Red Sox in a single season against the Blue Jays

Eduardo Rodriguez picked up the win, and lead the Sox with 11 wins (11-4). He went 6.1 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 runs and struck out 4 while walking 3. In his last 4 starts he has a 2.28 ERA.

Matt Barnes came on in relief in the 7th inning striking out Danny Jansen and Eric Sogard with the bases loaded to help preserve the win.

Brock Holt was 3-4, scored a run and drove in a run. Mookie Betts was 1-4 and has scored in 12 consecutive games, the longest streak by a Red Sox since Nomar Garciaparra scored in 12 consecutive games back in June 1998. Mookie also leads the majors with 84 runs scored.

With the win, Boston, now 52-44 are 9.5 games behind the 1st place New York Yankees, who were rained out in their game with Tampa Bay. The Red Sox are also 3 games out of the wild card spot.
